Lane 9 is ready
to talk to your team.

Our collective of Lane 9 coaches, clinicians, and athletes are here to talk about periods, nutrition, body image, and mental health with your team. These are things that athletes need to talk about, learn about, and feel more comfortable addressing with their peers.

Research has historically under-studied the impact of menstrual disorders, eating disorders, and low energy available on the female athlete body.

And the research we do have shows that 1 in 5 athletes are at risk of developing an eating disorder (Ghazzawi et al, 2024). This not only impacts their life in and out of sport, but also carries the risk of long term negative health effects.

Our work is focused on addressing the risks of disordered eating, over exercising, thin culture in sports at all levels, and empowering female athletes to rewrite their story with a healthier relationship to food, movement, periods, and sport.

We're here to talk about it so that athletes feel comfortable sharing what they're struggling with, and finding the support they need.

Here's the thing

Regular periods FTW.

Your team of female athletes is aware of REDs, curious about (and maybe struggling with adequate) nutrition, and knows it can be a challenge to keep menstrual cycles regular while also training to compete. But regular periods, full plates, and well-rested legs go a long way for performance!

The Lane 9 Team offers a variety of workshops addressing Nutrition (e.g. Flexible Fueling for Performance and Health), Body Image (training and competing in the body you have, not the one you see on social media), Period Health (because Regular Periods FTW), and team culture that can hold space for all of the above.

"Alexis presented to our cross country team and our women found it to be very informative. This workshop brought about new discussions amongst our team that I really believe will help instill a more healthy relationship with our sport. I would highly recommend Lane 9 Project to come and present to any cross country/track team."

"I have sat through a lot of meetings about this and this one was by far the most helpful. I really liked that you all talked about applications. Also that you talked about birth control in a non-judgmental way and left it as the athlete's individual choice."
